Luther House Grand Opening and Dedication
The grand opening was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who turned out to celebrate with us and to see the house.
Students and members of ULC have been hard at work renovating Luther House, and are very pleased to be back on campus. The house will be used as the headquarters for ULC's student group and offices, for campus outreach, Bible Studies, special events, and also to house Lutheran students who participate at ULC.
We hope to build a chapel on campus next to the house, and have already started to have plans drawn up. In order to make this hope a reality ULC needs to raise an estimated $1.6 million. Please help if you are able by donating through this website, or mailing a donation to ULC. (See below).
As you are probably aware, ULC received $2 million toward relocating our campus ministry from the Minnesota South District Convention. We have used a portion of those funds to purchase the student house. The rest will be put toward construction of a chapel. It is not nearly enough. Obtaining property and building at the U of M is extremely expensive. Consider that the developer who bought our old chapel paid close to $4 million, including demolition and clean-up costs, just for the lot ULC's chapel was situated on. We need your help.
How to Donate
or by mailing your donation to:

Please write "Build it Back" on the memo line of your check.
Your donations will help ULC build a new chapel at the University of Minnesota or (if that is not possible) to purchase a suitable church as close to campus as is feasible.

Thank you to everyone who has helped, and to everyone who is praying for us!
University Lutheran Chapel is a vibrant and growing campus ministry congregation whose mission touches students, the U of M community, the Twin Cities, and the whole Church. For over 60 years we had a campus chapel and student center at the University of Minnesota. This summer (2012) the Minnesota South District sold our buildings to a developer. The chapel is now demolished and the fight to save the property lost. Now it is time to move forward and rebuild the campus ministry. Help us Build It Back.

The Closing Service at the old ULC Chapel
If you would like to see pictures and video from the closing service of our chapel, as well as read the sermon and view the bulletin, Brothers of John the Steadfast has put together a very nice page where all of these can be had and easily viewed. We thank BJS for their stalwart support of ULC and for helping us to continue to raise funds for our relocation.
